Treasuries start at 1.5 mil in the stead of 1 million. No star players are included in your team lists. Instead, the league commissioner, with input, makes up a host of star players, generally 2 star players for every player in the leage. Then there is a DRAFT. We distribute the star player list to all the coaches, and set up a draft time. We had a live auction for each star player, with a minimum bid of the cost of that sort of player. Players were limited to races that they would normally have access to as allies. This achomplishes several things. 1st-- As long as the commish is a pretty cool guy (he was, as it was me), this avoids any absurd star players. No one with amazing str and agl, no griffs, no morgs. Just a lot of good, fairly moderate, fairly specialized star players. 2nd-- It was a BLAST. Draft night was a whole lot of fun, people had a great time bidding against each other. ---- As this is my first league up here, who knows wha we'll do for the 2nd season. All of the stars go to free agency and are in a new draft? I dunno. Kind of an interesting permutation, tho. Regards, -t
