It is true that top 8 Crab player Patrick Ockhauser (defeated by
Chris Bergstrom; playing a Crab oni deck) and top 4 Phoenix player Derek
Huisjan (defeated by Rob Kramer; playing a corrupt Phoenix deck) were
both wearing Junzo T-shirts under their "official" clan T-shirts. If
either of them won, each planned to take off the shirt to reveal a dark
alliance with the Shadowlands.
John Wick told everyone about this after the final game, and said,
"You never knew how close you came..."
I have *no* similar memory concerning Chris Bergstrom.
> I was there.
So was I.
Obviously, one of us is in error.
Chris, Dave? As you two are the only "first hand" accounts, would
either of you care to correct one of us?

Except he didn't. Ray Lau was the designer of LBS.

No. It's an effect, not a cost.

Time of the Void was originally announced to feature Crab and Lion.

The original idea for having the highest honor clans going first was
to balance that the high-honor clans had the lowest gold production.

Any Limited action.

Only you can use actions on your cards. The defender controls it.

Subject: Oni no Kamu

Accumulated Rulings: "Oni no Kamu's self-destruction after three
turns is not an effect of coming into play. It's simply a duration. It
will not be prevented by using the Stronghold."

No. For Agasha Join the Phoenix to benefit you, there must be no
members of your clan with the chosen name. This means you can't say
"Hida" for Naga, for example, because Hida Yakamo is a Naga.

I'm not saying the Acc. Rulings aren't useful. They absolutely *are*.
Heck, I've apologised to a player for not checking them myself. I'm just
reminding folks that the Accumlated Rulings are not the final authority
during a tournament; the judge is.
Plus, how many really contentious rulings have there been in the last
few months? There's been Seppun Sensei, and that's about it.
> But its nice to pull out an official source for a ruling to quiet

A judge should be able to do that in any case.
> Where is Jeff?? Did he fall off the earth or something?
Jeff Alexander has a job and a private life. If he wants to share
details of those, that's his perogative.

Subject: General Question About Senseis
> With senseis, even if they are removed from play, do they still affect
> play?
It depends on the effect. Many effects are not dependent on a card
remaining in lay (e.g., events).
> Somone told me that if you start with the Kaede Sensei, and somehow it
> leaves play, can you still not win by honor?
If you use the ability, you cannot win by honor, even if you later
remove Kaede Sensei. The effect is ongoing (card text).
> can you still bow to get a ring?
No.
