Oops. You're right, I'm wrong. The Wacky Ancestor Rules[TM]
strike again!

I'm still thinking their base gold cost should be what's
printed on the "card" -- i.e., 0.

No.

Ninube Ogoku. I wish *I* could forget her name...

Ogoku's presence in an army does NOT make it legal to move
in another unit which cannot normally be there. Not even with
Way of Deception.

Look in an Honor Bound or Pearl Edition rulebook. There's
a paragraph titled "Experienced Personalities" in the section
titled "Abilities and Traits". (The section is in the Table of
Contents. This particular paragraph is on p. 41 of the Pearl
booklet.)
The Exp2 version is more experienced than the Exp version,
so she may be overlayed onto the one already in play. Since this
is an increase of only one experience level, it's free. (If
there is more than one level of change between them and the
more-experienced one has a higher cold cost, you need to pay the
difference.)
The original version is less experienced than the one in
play. She cannot be over- or underlayed on the one already in
play.
Since all three are Unique, you may not bring either the
original or the Exp2 version into play as separate, new
Personalities.

>1) With everyone posting responses to the rules questions appearing on the

>I'm assuming...
Correct.
> anyone else?
Anyone who works for the company, really, though they tend
to stick to their areas of expertise -- tournament rules, the
story, stuff like that -- and leave the rules questions to
others. That would be Ed Bohlme, Luke Peterschmidt, Mindy
Sherwood-Lewis, and Ree Soesbee. I often deputize Zen Faulkes
when I know both Dave and myself will be offline for awhile.
>2) Will there be an accumulated rulings for Honor Bound available by the end
>of the week?
Not by the end of this week, sadly, but there will be by
Sunday night.

> Can I bow five personalities, each with a different elemental trait, =

No. Only the initial bowing that starts the lobbying is an
action.

Yes, for precisely the reason you found.

No. Since you *must* focus during Iaijutsu Art, you may not
play any reactions that take place "instead of focussing".
