I'll directly address this as its mine and Mindy's turf.
I do not know what type of appeals were allowed when AEG kept the records,
so some one else will need to speak if the current system is better or no.
I will point out that we have succeeded in many areas here.
1. Koteis
2. Global Storyline Tournaments
(kudos to Mindy)
We lifted the 1 tournament/month restriction
Points on the web are now viewable daily (instead of just in the Herald) and
change each ratings run (Wednesdays generally).
Now that the web reflects current points and not lifetime they are more
relevant.
The point situation has been messed up on the web since early June - that is
true. This stemmed from the lifetime points being cleared out and what that
does to a SQL database heirarchal system or something complex and ugly. This
was all corrected last week and the database appears healthy. Each Sunday
eve the database gets its information 'published' to the Web. An error or
failure occurred last week, which is why some folks web info is incorrect,
but shows up just fine in the main database.
Mr. O'Brian's complaints about his points not being correct was taken care
of this morning and stemmed from a delinquent tournament result, which I've
asked him to get from the TO and resubmit.
Brian Duff has an issue with a clan entry incorrect - which is fine in the
database and should be fine on the web if the publish goes off okay.
Todd (forgot last name) of Puyallup noted his F&S tournament was in error.
Looking this up we found one entry error by the data-entry folks and the TO
had reported standings as win-loss records and not final standings. Icky.
Antoine Blanchard got his two DCI#s combined after appeal was received and
thus has the Phoenix Warlord slot.
I've seen a number of tournament reports from the SotE pre-release listing
MONKEY as the clan played. Hopefully the advanced warning that this might
occur will enable the data-entry folks to correctly report Toturi's Army.
I guess the question I have for older tournament players is "Are things
better or worse or the same?"
Andy
