It has been the singular joy of my life to design Legend of the Five
Rings. I have never felt so fulfilled and at peace as when I stood
among you, the players, and realized that together we had built
something so special.

The other original members of the design team were all able to choose
the timing of their departure from Rokugan, but those in control have
decided that that fate was not mine to have. So is life. My good
friend John, through one of his characters, said "A coward never
truly lives and a Hero never truly dies". The spirit that we have put
into this game will continue strong long after the last card is
printed, the last story told, and the last game played.

I look forward to designing new games for you wonder people for years
to come, and I hope that you continue to enjoy the world of Rokugan
long after my departure.

May each of you find the joy and fulfillment that this game and you
fans have given to me.
